Getting More Inbound Links
Adam DesAutels on 07 28, 2009
It seems that a number of site owners would like to have more sites linking to their company site or blog. Why? There are a number of benefits of having inbound links pointed at your site. First, would obviously be, additional traffic. Second, if a sites with higher page rank than yours link to your site, your page rank will increase and you will get listed higher in search results. The list could go on, but you get the idea. Let’s find out how you can get credible inbound links pointed to your site.
As you may know, I am a huge advocate of Content Based Marketing… And that is exactly how we are going to build your inbound links. If you are not familiar with the concept of Content Based Marketing, click here.
Here is one example of how you can use Content Based Marketing to build inbound links:
-
The first step is to conduct a little research. What sites or blogs in your industry have a higher page rank than you? Make a list of sites and blogs that you feel get a lot of traffic in your industry. One way to do this is to use Google’s Blog Search. Type in keywords related to your industry and see who consistently shows up high in the search results. If you can make a list between six and ten sites you would like to target, you are in good shape.
-
Why did we make this list and what are we going to do with it? You could assume that the sites that were placed high in the search results have a high page rank… But, if you are like me and don’t like to assume, you can take your list of sites and check their page rank by going to PageRank Checker. The first site you want to check is yours. Once you have determined your page rank, find out what sites on your list have a higher page rank than you.
-
You should now have a list of industry specific sites that have a greater page rank than yours. The next step is to create content. Type up an article that will provide sites on this list with valuable content for their readers and also show the quality of your work. Make sure to include hyperlinks, pointed to your site, based on the keywords you typed in Google’s Blog Search.
-
The final step is to submit this content to the sites on your list. Find out the contact information in regards to the sites on your list and send them the content. Not all of them will post the content… But keep a list of the ones that do and continue to send them content.
That’s it! You now have more inbound links pointed at your site.
